Eye Care Technology

Recent advances in technology allow our doctors to diagnose disease more quickly and confidently than ever before.  We are proud to offer the most current eye care technology in our offices.  By diagnosing disease in its earliest stages, our doctors are able to provide timely intervention.  Ultimately, this early intervention and treatment may prevent visual damage.

Pattern Electroretinography Testing / ERG Testing

CRH Vision is proud to be the first eye care practice in Chester County offering Pattern Electroretinography Testing / ERG Testing in-office. ERG measures the function of your retina – the light-sensitive layer at the back of your eye. When light from an image enters the eye, it is converted into electrical energy by specialized cells in the retina. These cells send electrical impulses through the optic nerve to the brain where the image is processed. The Diopsys NOVA-ERG test records how well the cells of the retina are conveying electrical impulses within the eye.

ERG results have ben demonstrated to aid in the diagnosis and treatment planning of many vision disorders such as; glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, retinal dystrophies and much more.

Optical Coherence Tomography Testing / HD-OCT Testing

We are proud to be one of the first practices in Chester County to provide Optical Coherence Tomography testing / HD-OCT testing.   Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an imaging method that uses light to scan the retina, and can be performed on undilated pupils.  Using light to scan the retina and optic disc, this pioneering technology brings new clinical tools for the diagnosis and management of retinal disease and glaucoma.  The OCT represents the new standard of care in the detection and management and glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Visual Evoked Potential Testing / VEP Testing

CRH Vision is proud to be the first eye care practice in Chester County offering Visual Evoked Potential testing / VEP testing in-office.  VEP testing allows physicians to detect vision deficits, including glaucoma and other neuro-visual disorders.  By recording the electrical response of a patient’s entire visual system, VEP provides tremendous insight into optic nerve function.  Along with glaucoma, VEP testing allows our doctors to diagnose and monitor the condition of a variety of neuro-visual conditions, including traumatic brain injury, stroke and multiple sclerosis

Optomap Retinal Imaging

We are pleased to now offer Optomap Retinal Imaging to patients in our West Chester office. This dynamic instrument offers full-field retinal views in seconds WITHOUT the need for pupil dilation – providing a more efficient, and patient-friendly, alternative to the traditional dilated eye exam.  Through the use of Optomap imaging, patients no longer need to deal with the difficult side effects associated with pupil dilation, namely blurred near vision and light sensitivity for 3-4 hours.  Click here for more information.

Heidelberg Retinal Tomography

In our West Chester and Exton offices, we proudly offer Heidelberg Retinal Tomography instrumentation allowing for the most precise method of managing change in patients diagnosed with glaucoma.  We also provide Humphrey Visual Field testing, Digital Retinal Photography, and Pachymetry testing so that we may diagnose this devastating disease in its earliest stages.
