National Glaucoma Awareness Month

January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month.  Please take the time to schedule your annual eye exam.  Glaucoma, often called the “Silent Thief of Sight” is a hereditary eye disease that can affect patients at any age.  Because there are no early symptoms, it is essential that patients receive annual comprehensive eye examinations.  Risk factors for glaucoma include family history, smoking, history of trauma to the eye, and history of vascular disease (hypertension, diabetes, etc.).  To learn more about this condition, please click here.
