Can Blue Light from Computers Damage My Eyes?

Blue light comes largely from the sun, but is also emitted through fluorescent lights, LED lights, LED TV’s, computer monitors, tablets and smartphones. While the exposure from these devices is small, blue light-emitting devices are close to our eyes, and blue light contributes to digital eye strain. Additionally, studies have shown that exposure to digital devices at bedtime could negatively affect sleep and circadian rhythm.

Protect your eyes by taking frequent breaks from your digital devices and avoiding use prior to bedtime. It’s also recommended to have your eyes checked for signs of eye strain or dryness due to extended use on digital devices.
